Example of the Wwise setups for seasons specific to foliage.
Trees in Ashes of Creation provided a significant portion of the dynamic ambient audio content within a biome. This helped with audio/visual continuity, where areas that had many trees sound very lush and areas that were visually sparse were less aurally active.
Trees were based of the Season System and allowed for granular control of fauna to mimic things like changes in time of day, migrations of fauna in seasons, and impacts based on weather.
Bird sounds were a mix of calls and songs. Songs would be broken up into segments where they would then be played back in an infinite number of ways which alleviated the possibility of too much repetition.
